Busy Little Bumble Bee

Lately, I have been one busy little bumble bee...I have accomplished so much in the past couple of days than I have in the past couple of months. But, let me start off explaining how the start of my week has gone.

[Monday] I was off this day, and it was a spectacular one with friends. I got to attend an all girls BBQ which consisted of some pretty hott ladies grilling hamburgers on the grill. I think we did a pretty fantastic job!...especially considering the fact that I don't know how to grill and left it up to everyone else. lol. After the BBQ, we all decided to take a random trip to IKEA...love it! I bought a couple of things, but not much. I guess I should have taken pictures of what I bought, but its too late for me to do that now...Maybe another day. After Ikea, the four of us [elena, dana, dena, and me] went back to Elena's to eat pizza, drink wine, and clean her house because her husband was coming home for R&R. We like to help each other get ready for the husband to come home, and I love it because it a period of time for good laughs.

[Tuesday] I finished helping Elena with her house, and went to work..nothing special ever happens on Tuesdays. BLAH!

[Wednesday] Elena's husband came home, and I got to be the first one to see him. YAY! I also started to clean my house because it was a disaster!

[Thursday] Again, nothing happened. haha However, I did install a shelf in the computer room to hold some of my new paintings I painted.

[Friday] After work, I went to another BBQ with some other girls [Melissa and Jess], and had fun as well. Except, my night there got cut short because my husband needed to talk to me. YAY! I was so ready for a good talk with him, and it was great! He is doing well, but is very tired from all the traveling he did in the past two weeks. He is finally at his new station, and loving it...thats what I have heard. On friday night, I also started dog sitting Dusty! Below is a picture I attempted to take while we were playing. This is the tenth shot because it was so hard to get them both to sit still.

[Saturday] On Saturday, I woke up pretty late and accomlished all of the weeks homework. It took up a good bit of my day since I hadn't touched it all week. Later that night, I had to go to work from 4-11. I had a blast because we had youth all throughtout the night for the first time. It definately made my night a lot more fun, and not so boring.

[Sunday] I woke up bright and early and accomplished a lot on this day. First off, I finished an necessary homework I could not accomplish the night before, and then paid some bills. I am so happy to say that Gregg and I will soon be debt free, and its going to be the greatest feeling ever! After that, I went down to the garage and tackled that project. I have been dying to get down there forever, but never had a free day to do it. It definately took up more than half my day to complete it, but I am so proud of my accomplishment. After that, I ran some errands on post, and started working on my new DIY project. Below...

I bought this old dressor at a thrift store a block away from my apartment. It was only 10 euro, and definitely a steal! It did not have that great of hardware on it though, so I decided to change it, and make it a little more fun! Also, I need to go by some ratan to put on the back walls of this cabinet to make it look a bit more textured. Anyways, here are pictures of the old hardware and the new hardware.

[Today, Monday] I am sitting at home while a Cleaning Lady deep cleans my house. Yes, I said a cleaning lady. I am great at picking up my stuff, but horrible at sweeping, mopping, dusting, and bathrooms. So, I hired someone to do it for me. Right now, I am smelling the sweet smell of Mop and Glow, and its pretty much amazing! lol. Later on, I am going to finish up some errands, go work out, and then just enjoy the day! Ah, to feel accomplished!

To Long of a Blogging Break

I think I have been gone long enough, and it is about time to give you guys an update. I have been gone because of midterms. Of course, what other excuse would I have for you. Sensation and Perception was not too bad, but American Government kicked me in the butt. I had no clue where to go with it, but thanks to a friend, we conquered through it at last minute.

Gregg and I went on a long break without being able to talk to each other, and it really put my patience to the test. There were many nights I was sad, angry, and just plain numb. I can't wait for this deployment to be over with, and Gregg at home. He is doing good now, but very very busy. I am hoping the work load will slow down for him soon so we are able to talk more.

My best friend Justine's husband got hurt yesterday down range [He is okay, just scared us more than anything], and really put things in perspective for me. Sometimes, you get so wrapped up in your life that you forget about the things that are truely important. My husband is at war protecting me and millions of other people he doesn't even know. I hope no sort of harm crosses his path, and he is able to return home soon. [i love you baby]

On to other news:
I don't remember if I told you or not, but I got to go to a hair coloring party with a couple of my girlfriends. I colored my hair a medium brown just like I did last time. I think I really should go permanent with it next time..hmm. Here is my friend, Natalie going for it on my hair.

Recap of my birthday:

On my birthday, May 4th, I got to have a great day filled with awful rain. In Italy...when it rains, it literally pours. I got all dressed up because I don't get that chance anymore, but it was totally not even worth it. By the time I took my 10 second walk into work, I was drenched up to my waist. My jeans were soaked, and my shoes made the swishing noise. Ugh, it was awful! However, while I was at work...I got a flower delivery from a great friend, Dana, and her son Jericho. I'm telling you guys, these two are AMAZING people. They were beautiful daisies; by far the best daisies I have ever seen.

And when I got home, I came home to my kitchen decorated my Dana and Jericho [they have my extra set of house keys, so I didn't know]. It literally made my heart skip a beat, and a smile come over my face.

Later that night, Natalie and I went and got some sushi from Zushi and ate at my house while watching Its Complicated. By the way, very funny movie. I would watch it again and again.

Update with Jack:
Jack has been a busy little bee walking close behind all over the house. He is in desperate need of a haircut, and I feel so bad I have let his hair get as long as it has. However, Gregg would love the whole long hair over the eyes look. Jack has also made a new friend. Her name is Una, and she is about 3 months old. I think Jack likes her because she is around the same size as he is. She comes over all the time now, and plays. After about 10 minutes of playing, they both tire out and sleep. Here is Jack's new friend, Una, asleep on my American Government book.

I had a pretty busy weekend, and I am pretty glad I accomplished just about everything on my list. I had a fun girls night out on Friday by enjoying a great dinner with friends followed by dancing. Saturday consisted of homework, and work from 4-11. Saturday was pretty much a waste for me, but oh well. However, today was very productive. I finished all of my school work, tackled the entire pile of laundry, installed a shower curtain, and managed to cook myself dinner.
Here is a picture of the shower curtain I installed, just in case no one reads my FB posts.

That's about it, I think. I am planning some trips that will take up most of my time for June and July, and I am pretty excited about it! So, be sure to keep a look out for updates on that! Until next time, later.

Flowers and Birthday Present

Well, its finally Spring here, and I can't be any happier! You can tell I have been in a better mood lately, and I will owe it all to the sun! In the winter, I feel so lazy and tired. Now, I feel like I can get so much more accomplished, and I have. Gregg has even made the comment that I am always busy because I have missed him being online a lot recently. The reason is..I am at the gym twice more than I was before, I have a new friend and we help each other with errands and have doggie playdates, and there is so many places that have openned up again due to the warm weather being back!

Like I said yesterday, I have started to get to work on my balcony making it more inviting. I finished my flower project. However, there are some seeds I will plant next weekend so I can start growing things. I am still debating between different items, such as: basil, garlic, green beans, strawberries, jalepenos, and more. There is just so many too choose from, and I don't even know where to begin. Anyways, here are a few pictures of the flowers I have planted this past weekend:

My Hydrangeas!! YAY!! Hydrangeas are my FAVORITE!! When I have my own house, I eventually want to get a huge bush of hydrangeas..But what color would I choose then? Hmm...

And, guess what the hubby did?! He bought me the best brithday present EVER! Also, it came in just in time, so I can use it on my birthday! He bought me the Vera Bradley clutch that goes with the wallet I just bought. Apparently, someone has been secretly reading the blog..lol. I NEVER told him I bought that new wallet, and wanted the clutch to match. He is just amazing! I love you babe, and you are too good to me!

See, it goes perfectly...
Tomorrow is my birthday, and I am not doing anything special as of right now. I did not plan anything because I don't have my hubby here, I don't have my family with me, and I don't have my best friend here. So, it will be very low key...but you never know, something might pop up. And don't worry, I will keep you guys informed! Until next time, later!

Girls Night

Don't you just love those simple girls nights? I sure do!! Elena invited some of us over for dinner. She made delicious chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans. I could not get over the wonderful taste of a home cooked meal. I stopped cooking comfort food like that since Gregg left, so it was a dream to have it all back. The night was filled with lots of talk, dancing, and giggling! Here are some pictures from the night!

Apparently, I like to stand on the right?
I get to go enjoy another girls night tonight. I am pumped about it again. Tonight its with another girl Dana, Natalie again, and me! We are having a coloring hair party. So, I will be back to being dark brown after tonight, and I can't be more excited! Picking tonight was a great choice considering its kind of a gloomy day outside, and my birthday is in two days! [Secret: I am actually nervous about turning 22.]
Also, I started to plant my flowers today..not done. I had to take a break, but I will finish up tonight and hopefully have pictures up tomorrow. They are so cute. [Guess what Mom: I got to buy some hydrangeas!! (sp?)] Those are my favorite!! Anyways, can't wait to get on here again and update you some more.
